About Open Enrollment The Open Enrollment process for the 2006-07 school year CLOSED AT THE END OF THE DAY AUGUST 31, 2006. Parents who were not offered seats in this year’s process will need to reapply for the 2007-08 school year. The application period for the 2007-08 school year will begin at 8:00 am November 27, 2006 and will close promptly at 4:00 pm on Friday, January 19, 2007. Applications will be available at every school in the district, in the Open Enrollment Office, or can be downloaded from this website on November 27th. Students may... attend their district designated neighborhood school (based on home address) open enroll to another neighborhood school open enroll in a focus school (meets BVSD standards but may have a different curriculum or philosophy) open enroll in a charter school (an independent school) within the district. Through open enrollment parents/guardians may choose to enroll in a school outside of their neighborhood as long as there is sufficient programming, staff and space at the school. Parents/guardians who reside outside BVSD may open enroll their children into this district -- currently about 800 of Boulder Valley's students are from neighboring districts.
